In Sicily, island of sun, sea and colour, placed on the North West coast of the Tyrrhenian sea, in an area renowned for the softness of its climate, and the beautiful wild scenery, you will find Scopello (only 40 minutes from Palermo airport). Situated on the edge of this tiny village, dominating the most spectacular views over the mountains and the gulf of Castellammare (from Punta Rais to Capo San Vito) the completely refurbished old hotel of Torre Bennistra is now open. Indeed from this envious position the eye can range freely along the high and jagged coast, rich with small bays of white shingle and limpid, transparent water. The cliffs that plunge into the sea are covered with Mediterranean plants, beautiful in all seasons, creating contrasts of colour and intoxicating scents.
The little hotel, which is open all year round, has everything to make your stay comfortable. It has 21 light and beautifully furnished rooms. All have large windows, some which look out over the Faraglioni (sea stacks) and the Tonnara and from which you can see the emerald green glittering in the light of the rising sun. Others look out towards the mountains, the Torre Bennistra and the Zingaro Nature Reserve (where the mountain and coastal foot paths are ideal for walking).
In the restaurant, with views over the wide blue gulf of Castellammare, you can enjoy typical dishes with the traditional flavours of Arab origin, which to the present day are a feature of the local cooking, lovingly prepared with a confidence and experience that guarantees authentic and top quality use of the ingredients. This skilled preparation is accompanied by the soft, fruity D.O.C. wines, typical of the Trapani and Palermo regions.
